Artist Abby Kasonik uses clay and pattern to create imagined bodied sculptures that muddle our understanding of what is fixed and what is fluid.
She is also an abstract painter, capturing moments of atmospheric change and shifts in her surrounding landscape. Kasonik received a degree in sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work is in the collections of The Fralin Museum of Art, University of Virginia’s Forum Hotel at the Darden School, and the Boar’s Head Resort. She is also currently featured in the 2024 Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art Made in VA Biennale exhibition.
