Sanford Bond, an architect and sculptor based in Richmond, Virginia, uses geometric and scaling forms to explore and balance the qualities of context and landscape in the urban experience.
Sanford Bond received a BA in Drama from the University of Virginia and a Master of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His portfolio of buildings includes the Richmond Ballet, the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, American Civil War Museum, and the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar. His sculptures are in the collections of Capital One and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. His awards include Virginia Society AIA Honor Award, the SEGD Merit Award, and the Virginia Society AIA William C. Noland Medal.
