Cynthia Henebry uses photography to explore contemporary family life, often presenting a child's perspective.
Exhibitions of her work include the National Portrait Gallery; the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts; Sweet Briar College; the Houston Center for Photography; the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art; Page Bond Gallery; and the Tacoma Art Museum, among others. Henebry received a BA at Bates College. She earned her Masters in Fine Arts in Photography/Film from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014. Her work is in the collections of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts; Capital One; and numerous private collections.
