Julian Jackson uses painting, printmaking, photography, and performance to create diverse and impactful artworks.
His paintings have been exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. He studied at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. His work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, NY; the Metropolitan Museum, NY; and the Phillips Collection, Washington, DC, among others. His awards include fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, the Millay Colony, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Soaring Gardens, as well as being a visiting artist at the Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus in Schwandorf, Germany. Presently, he is a member and former secretary of the American Abstract Artists and serves on the artists advisory panel for BRIC artspace in Brooklyn, NY. Jackson lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
