Robert Llewellyn uses photography to capture landscapes and trees, specializing in documenting Virginia's remarkable trees and other natural scenes.
He studied engineering science at the University of Virginia and learned photography from Imogen Cunningham in the 1960s. Llewellyn has published thirty-five books based on his photographs, including "Washington, The Capital", recognized as an official diplomatic gift by the White House and U.S. State Department, and "Remarkable Trees of Virginia". His works "Seeing Trees", "Seeing Flowers", and "Seeing Seeds" feature his photography and were published by Timber Press. In 2017, Timber Press released "The Living Forest: A Visual Journey Into the Heart of the Woods," a collaboration with writer Joan Maloof featuring 305 of Llewellyn's photographs. He lives with his wife Barbara Reading Grant in Earlysville, Virginia.
