Katie Ré Scheidt

Katie Ré Scheidt uses painting to explore themes of color, gesture, and human experience.

An abstract expressionist artist living in Roxbury, Connecticut, her sophisticated use of color and uninhibited brushwork contribute to a lyrical and uplifting body of work. She received a BA in Psychology and Finance. Before becoming an artist, Scheidt worked on Wall Street for 12 years and survived the 9/11 tragedy, marking a significant turning point in her life and career. In 2010, she moved to Litchfield County with her husband, where they raise their two children. Scheidt paints in her studio, "The Fauve Barn," and has developed a strong commission business over the past six years, focusing on custom abstracts as well as portraiture and nudes. Her work is in the collections of private collectors worldwide and currently hangs at various Auberge Resorts and Relais & Chateaux hotels in New England.
