Sayaka Suzuki uses mixed media, including performance and installations, to express her reflections and interpretations.
Born in Japan, she earned her MFA in Craft and Material Studies from VCU in 2005 and now serves as a faculty member at the institution. Suzuki's artistic journey includes receiving a Professional Fellowship at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and exhibiting at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Her work is featured in esteemed collections worldwide, including the Douro Museum Printmaking Biennial Collection in Portugal, Capital One Headquarters in Richmond, VA, The Studio at The Corning Museum of Glass in NY, Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA, Erskine Glass School in Paxton, MA, and the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, PA.
