INTIMATIONS is an exploration of the push and pull between the intimate and the vast in our environment. As an artist and observer of the natural world, I orient myself by rooting in the tactile experience of where I’m standing and the topography, flora, and light of my immediate surroundings. Yet I also anchor myself by looking to the horizon, by feeling myself small in the vastness of the world around me, by feeling awe at its scale and grandeur.
This work explores that juxtaposition, the different ways we experience the landscape and our place in it, and how those disparate experiences inform and enrich each other.
